Who wrote the novel upon which "Less Than Zero" (1987) was based?

Correct answer:

  • Bret Easton Ellis

Incorrect answers:
  • Stephen King
  • Michael Crichton
  • Nick Hornby

Interesting Info:
  • The film, about wealthy post-adolescents in 1980s Los Angeles, took its characters and setting from the Ellis novel, but little else. Robert Downey Jr. starred as a cocaine addict, Jami Gertz as his girlfriend, and Andrew McCarthy as his friend. As in "American Psycho" (2000), also based on an Ellis novel, this film focused on the excesses of the young and affluent in the 80s.
